C1 Swedish TISUS preparation course

Advanced Swedish: course overview

C1 Level Swedish language course

Our C1 Swedish course develops advanced Swedish language skills for further study, discussion and demanding communication. It is for learners building on earlier Swedish who want to prepare for the TISUS test or strengthen their advanced language skills. Healthcare learners can combine their general language studies with Medical Swedish. C1 is an advanced CEFR level; C2 is a further level in that framework.

The published course structure is 60 study hours across 20 lessons and 10 conversation sessions: 40 compulsory hours and 20 recommended conversation hours. See the schedule and registration options below.

  • Broaden vocabulary beyond everyday topics and use it in context.

TISUS preparation and the official examination

TISUS is a separate examination used to demonstrate Swedish-language eligibility for university studies in Sweden. Its three parts assess reading comprehension, writing and speaking. Register for the examination with the official organiser; booking this course is not an exam registration or a guarantee of passing.

Use Stockholm University’s official TISUS information for current locations, dates, application periods and test requirements.

Preparing for Swedex C1

If your goal is a Swedex C1 result, check the B2C1 examination route. Swedex assesses reading, listening, writing and speaking, and the result depends on your performance. Advanced Swedish study can support preparation, but you should also practise the specific test format and review official sample tasks.

Swedex and TISUS serve different purposes. Confirm which evidence your university, employer or authority accepts before choosing a test. Read Folkuniversitetet’s explanation of Swedex; exam fees and registration are separate from our course.

Plan your advanced Swedish study

Allow time between lessons to read, write, listen and prepare for discussion. Use our Swedish study plan and weekly practice guide to build a routine. If you are unsure where to start, compare the Swedish course levels and formats before registering.

The main exercising form is listening, reading, and pronunciation.

Candidates can take this course both in real-time and at their own pace as a course.

As a student you can apply for a certificate for any course you have passed at ONLINE SWEDISH.
