Frequently asked questions about Swedish courses
Yes, the course is virtual, real-time online. But we also offer prerecorded video courses.
What is the price of the course?
You can find prices on each course page. You can also go to the price and discount page.
How different are you from SFI?
- We use English to conduct and explain the lessons.
- We have a clear structure, starting date, and ending date.
- We follow the CEFR approach in our methodology to deliver the courses.

How many students are in one group?
The limit of students in one real-time course is 15 students.
How many lessons are there in one course?
20 lessons

What is the time of the slots of the courses?
We conduct lessons in Swedish time. To see a specific course, you need to check the schedule.

Is prior knowledge required for the A1 course?
No, the A1 course is for beginners as well as for absolute beginners.
Test in Swedish for university studies.
Do I need to take the TISUS exam to be able to work?
It depends on your profession, but usually not.
Will you be speaking in English or Swedish in the lesson?
Instructions are in English
Do I need to buy books and other materials?
No, for the lessons, you do not need to purchase material. But if you want to acquire and want to have some books/e-books, you can buy them. But otherwise, for our lessons, you do not need.
Do I need to do homework and study aside from those lessons in the class?
No. The only thing we recommend, to repeat the lesson if it’s necessary
Depends on if you live in Sweden or outside. PayPal is the preferred choice, but other options are negotiable too.
We record each lesson, so you will have a chance to cover missed classes.
Can I get a Certificate after completing a course?
Yes, absolutely. You can request your certificate. However, make sure that you comply with the requirements to get a certificate. If you want to get for example a certificate for B1 level, besides completing the courses, you need also have attended 30 conversation sessions.
Is the certificate provided by “ONLINE SWEDISH” accepted by Socialstyrelse?

What courses/levels do you offer in general?
Can I try a lesson before I decide?
Yes, absolutely. Here you can try a virtual or recorded lesson.
Yes, we have many types of discounts. You can find more info about discounts.

I can not attend real-time lessons; can I study externally at my own pace?
Yes, it’s possible. You can study at your pace with video lessons.
How many courses do I need to take to be fluent in Swedish?
To be fluent in the language does not primarily depend on level. It depends rather on how frequently does one uses the language. On average, it is at least B1 (CEFR) level.
There are 5-6 levels according to CEFR. A1,A2,B1,B2,C1 and C2.
C2 does not really apply to all languages.
Is it possible to start learning instantly without waiting for the next course to start?
Yes, if you prefer to start immediately with learning and can not wait for the live sessions start, you can then learn by recorded video lessons.
Do you offer courses for Companies?
Yes, we do offer Swedish courses for companies.
