1. Choose your starting course
If you are a complete beginner, start with Swedish A1. You do not need any previous knowledge of Swedish.
Already studied Swedish? Tell us what you have studied and what you want to achieve. We can help you choose a suitable starting point.
Our seven-course pathway includes A1, A2, B1, Swedish for Professionals (SFP), B2, Writing & Speaking, and C1. You can book an individual course or choose the Academy package for the full pathway. SFP and Writing & Speaking provide additional practice within the programme.

2. Choose live classes or video lessons

3. Check the class times
Our standard live courses meet Monday to Thursday, with 20 lessons over five weeks. Each lesson lasts two hours.

The tracks are timetable slots. Different courses run in each slot during the year, so check the row for your chosen course to see its start date, end date and teaching time. A particular level may be available in one track for a given intake.
If you live outside Sweden, check the corresponding local time, including any clock changes during your course.

4. Check the fee and choose your package

The video Academy packages include six video courses plus the live Writing & Speaking course. Normal Mode and Medical Professional Mode have different examination and certificate arrangements.
Course materials are included. The specialist Swedish for Medical Staff (SFM) course costs €399 separately and is outside the Academy packages and discount programmes.
Early-booking, multiple-course and other offers have their own conditions. Review the current prices and discounts for the offer that applies to your booking. Payment is made in one transaction; instalment plans are unavailable.
5. Register and receive your invoice
For a live course, begin with a free trial lesson or a conversation with an instructor so that we can check the course level with you.
Then follow these steps:
- Choose your course or package and, for live study, check the scheduled dates and track.
- Open the live course booking page or the video course booking page.
- Copy and complete the invoice-request details on that page.
Email your request to robert[at]onlineswedish.net with the subject Invoice request. For a live course, include your intended start date and track.

- We review your information and email your invoice. Complete payment to reserve your live-course place.

6. Attend lessons and practise speaking
In live lessons, explanations and instructions are given in English. Study materials are included, and recordings let you review a lesson or catch up if you miss one. You can find practical details in our course FAQ.
For the standard course structure, 20 two-hour lessons provide 40 hours of teaching. Ten additional conversation sessions provide 20 hours of speaking practice, bringing the combined total to 60 hours. The A1 course page explains this breakdown.
Our free Språkcafé gives you an opportunity to practise Swedish with other learners. It has its own session schedule. Register once to receive invitations, then follow the joining instructions for each session.

Can I receive a certificate?
Yes. You can request a certificate after meeting the relevant requirements. These include completing the required coursework and attending 10 conversation sessions per course.
A participation or completion certificate documents your course participation. A certificate of knowledge has additional requirements relating to your Swedish proficiency and study pathway. Read the certificate requirements when planning your studies, especially if you need a particular certificate for work or further education.
